How to make banana ice cream at home

So lately I’ve been craving foods and snacks that are out of the staple. I’m talking about food other than rice, yam, garri, etc because I don’t know what would happen if I have to eat another plate of rice or yam again.

While I was going down food memory lane, I recalled my mother used to make these lovely banana ice cream for us and they used to be so delicious.

I thought, why not? Why not bring readers of TSB News into the discovery of this simple, yet, delicious snack.

Without taking much of your delicious time, Leggo!

Here’s how we’ll run this article; we’ll go over the ingredients first, then go into the steps in making this snack okay? Okay!

Disclaimer: Please note that this recipe is applicable for just one serving. Adjust ingredients according to the number of servings.

What You’ll Need

  • One Large Ripe Banana (Or 2, depending on how much you can take)
  • Other spices of choice (Chocolate chips or pieces, honey, ginger etc)

Steps

  • Peel the ripe banana(s) and cut them into small slices
  • Place the sliced bananas in a ziplock bag and freeze them (depending on how fast your freezer or cooling system is)
  • Now that the banana pieces are completely blocked, pour them into a food processor or blender (whichever you have access to). Blend these frozen banana pieces until they are smooth. If it is difficult getting the banana to be smooth, you may add some milk or cream into the mixture
  • Scoop mixture into a cup or bowl of choice
  • Still frozen, your banana ice cream should be ready to be eaten

Although you can enjoy your banana ice cream bare, there are so many ways to make this banana ice cream more interesting and tasty. Some of the toppings and flavours you could include in your ice cream include strawberries, cookies, frozen fruits or berries, etc.
