Former The Queen actor, Loyiso MacDonald who played the role of Kagiso Khoza has been served with divorce papers by his wife, Mthunzi MacDonald.
IHarare previously reported that the actor was cheating on his wife with his co-star, Zandile Msutwana who plays the role of Vuyiswa Maake on The Queen.
The actor had since denied these reports when they began to surface in 2019.
However, several publications have now confirmed that his wife, Mthunzi Simphiwe MacDonald served the actor with divorce papers in an effort to end their nine-year civil marriage.
It is alleged that the 31-year-old freelance creative, Mthunzi approached the Johannesburg High Court last week, and claimed that her marriage to the actor is beyond repair and that they’re living separate lives.
The court application reads:
The plaintiff (Mthunzi Simphiwe MacDonald) is of the belief that there is no reasonable prospect of the restoration of a normal marriage relationship with the defendant (Loyiso MacDonald) … the parties have lost their mutual love and respect for each other.
The document also reveals that no children were born out of their marriage, which is a community of property union, and that the couple have lived in separate homes since February 2017.
“The defendant has committed adultery and the plaintiff finds it irreconcilable to continue with the relationship; there is no meaningful communication between the parties.”
The papers further state that there will be no division of any joint estate and that each will retain the property in their possession.
The couple had a traditional wedding at Mthunzi’s hometown in Witbank, Mpumalanga in 2012 and it was attended by close friends and celebrities in the industry.
MacDonald and Msutwana’s affair started when the two acted as lovers on Zabalaza years back.
The pair are rumoured to have taken their relationship off-camera and have been madly in love since.
