Tems reflects on time spent in Ugandan prison last year

Tems, the Nigerian singer, has recounted her experience in Uganda last year when she was detained for participating in an unauthorised concert.

In December 2020, the singer was arrested by Ugandan police alongside Omah Lay following their involvement in the event held in Ddungu Resort in Munyonyo, Kampala City.

The pair were said to have flouted the COVID-19 protocol in Uganda at that time.

They were, however, released from detention after a wave of heated backlashes from Nigerians on social media.

In a Twitter post yesterday night, Tems recounted what she experienced during her time in the prison.

She said while in prison, she sat on the floor bonding with women and children.

The ‘Damages’ crooner disclosed that she still cannot believe all that she had gone through in the past. She also thanked God for sustaining her despite the odds.
