Career
Victony’s musical career kicked off professionally in 2017 and at the time he was a rapper. He made his debut with a mixtape on SoundCloud titled “The Outlaw King” which is why till this day, his fans know him and refer to him as ‘The Outlaw King’.
The mixtape was the beginning of what would be an impressive music career. He went on to make numerous covers on Soundcloud of international hit records “Bodak Yellow” by Cardi B, “Moonlight” by XXXtentacion, “On The Low” by Burna Boy, and many others.
Victony who started off as a rapper later developed a more dynamic artistry and he switched and started releasing RNB, Trap Music, and Afropop records.
2021 was his breakthrough year when his record “Pray” started gaining traction, a song that was released after his accident. 2021 even got better career-wise as his song with Mayorkun “Holy Father” held the number 1 position on Apple Music Nigeria and several other music charts in Nigeria.
Victony’s Accident
On the 26th of April, on the way back from a birthday party, Victony and his friends were involved in a fatal car accident that claimed the life of one of his friends, Doyin. The singer was left badly injured and had to undergo surgery.
The news was shared online by talent manager, Dafe who called for prayers from well-meaning Nigerians with the hashtag #prayforvictony. Celebrities like Davido, Laycon, Ric Hassani, Soundz, and many other top celebrities in Nigeria tweeted a prayer for him and a GoFundMe account was set up for his surgery.
The surgery went successful and the singer has been using a wheelchair since after then.
