The Public Relations profession in Nigeria has been thrown into turmoil and mourning with the sad news that one of its strong member, Alima Atta, has passed on to the great beyond when she lost a long battle with cancer. Atta who founded Sesema PR in 2002 after working with top firms both in the country and abroad, died on Saturday, June 6, 2015 after bravely battling the ailment for several years.
A statement released by Sesema PR’s Executive Director, Tampiri Irimagha-Akemu, broke the sad news of Atta’s demise:
“Sesema Public Relations is sad to announce the passing of our Managing Director, Alima Atta. She passed on in the early hours of Saturday 6th of June, 2015, after a brave battle with cancer. We would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to her mother, sisters, brother, nephews and nieces.”
Before hear death, Atta was the host of TalkBiz, a business program on Smooth 98.1 FM, and was also named as one of Nigeria’s 100 most influential women recently.
