Emotions were raw in east Harris County as friends and family got the news of a woman killed in a terrible accident on Wallisville Road. Family members identified the woman as Nancy Acosta, a mother of three who was caught in the middle of a love triangle when they said her husband started seeing another woman. Detectives said a fight pushed Acosta to the breaking point when she jumped in her car and tried to chase her estranged husband & the woman he was with Thursday afternoon.
Acosta’s friend said the husband would only come home to shower and eat but wouldn’t help with the children. “She was reaching speeds pretty high,” said Wilkie. “Spinning around out of control and that’s when she got hit in the driver’s door.”
Officials said after bumping her estranged husband’s car, she swerved into oncoming traffic and was hit by a man driving a blue Honda CRV. Acosta died at the scene and the man driving the CRV was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he is in critical condition but expected to survive.
“We feel bad this happened. There’s three kids now with no mom,” said Acosta’s friend.
Her friends said she was a member of a church, loved her children and was trapped in an unhappy relationship that she had sacrificed so much for..
