Usain Bolt beat Justin Gatlin by one hundredth of a second to retain the 100m title at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing.Gatlin, 33, had been unbeaten in 28 races and started as favourite after running 9.77secs in his semi-final.
But Bolt, 29 had a much better start in the final and won his ninth world gold.America’s Trayvon Bromwell and Canada’s Andre De Grasse were both awarded a bronze medal after clocking identical times of 9.911secs.
