Tattoo artist Mykhailo £685 back inking inspired by concept of freedom sparks fierce debate

A tattoo artist has sparked fierce debate after proudly showing off the distinctive inking he did on a client’s back for a cool £685.

Mykhailo, 21, from Berlin, went viral on TikTok earlier this year when he posted a video of his latest design.

The eight-second video opens with the man posing without a top on while Mykhailo zooms in on the design.

Although Mykhailo claimed in his video that he charged €900 for the inking, he later told Insider that it was between €700 and €800 [£600-685].

He finished the video by asking his 39,000 followers: ‘Worth it?’

Since uploading the video last month, the clip has amassed over 2.5m views – and TikTok users were quick to criticise the unique design.

One joked: ‘Looks like my graph from finals when I forgot to bring a ruler.’

While another claimed the man’s back was ‘ruined’, a third replied: ‘I wouldn’t do that to myself even for €10,000.’

‘I would have done that for a fiver,’ a fourth joked.

Meanwhile, a fifth said: ‘My nephew drew on his back!’

However, others jumped to Mykhailo’s defence and said it may have turned out exactly how the client wanted.
