Indian Villagers Worship Newly Built Toilets Instead Of Using Them

This moment was captured on camera somewhere in India where residents inaugurated a newly built toilet by performing a genuine worship ritual.

In the picture, on the ground in front of the toilet is placed a plate containing a cup of sindoor, an essential part of most of Indian religious ceremonies, and a glass of milk as another offering. The toilet, nothing more than a latrine-seat, is covered with discarded empty rice and wheat sacks, and is decorated with garlands and mango leaves. A green ribbon awaited the arrival of the lucky person who was chosen to inaugurate the toilet.

Meanwhile, the Indian prime minister, Narendra Modi, has claimed 100% success in the eradication of open defecation under the Sawach Bharat (Clean India) campaign.
