Afrobeats sensation, CKay, has thrown some shade at his colleagues, revealing that those who once ridiculed his unique style, unique Afrobeats style, are now imitating it.
The ‘Love Nwantiti’ hitmaker claims he pioneered several trends that many Afrobeats artists thrive on today.
Reflecting on how he was once mocked for promoting his songs on TikTok, CKay noted that these same critics are now following his lead.
Taking to his X handle, CKay wrote,
“History can’t be rewritten just because some people got paid to rewrite it…I’ll always be here to remind you.
“CKay is the first. I pioneered many vibes Afrobeats artistes thrive off today…iykyk. Y’all laughed when I came up with emo-afrobeat and was on TikTok all day but many are now doing the same thing, calling it ridiculous names (& making $$). You’re welcome sha.”
