Ekkachai and Laksana Tiranarat, a couple from Thailand, hold the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous kiss—an incredible 58 hours, 35 minutes, and 58 seconds!Their record-breaking feat took place during a Valentine’s Day competition organized by Ripley’s Believe It or Not! in Pattaya, Thailand, in February 2013.
How They Set the Longest Kiss Record
The challenge was far from easy, with strict rules in place:
✔️ No breaks – The kiss had to be continuous.
✔️ No sitting or sleeping – Couples had to remain standing.
✔️ Limited bathroom breaks – They had to stay connected even while using the restroom.
✔️ No outside assistance – Food and drinks had to be consumed while kissing.
Ekkachai recalled the grueling experience, stating that he felt like fainting at times, with spectators even handing him an inhaler for support.
Breaking Their Own Record
The couple was no stranger to the challenge—they had previously won the same contest in 2011 with a 46-hour kiss before surpassing their own record in 2013. Since then, no couple has been able to break their impressive milestone.
Why No One Can Break Their Record
Following their win, the Guinness World Records discontinued the longest kiss category due to safety concerns. This means that Ekkachai and Laksana remain undefeated world record holders to this day!
Where Are They Now?
Despite their historic achievement, Ekkachai recently revealed that he and Laksana are no longer together. However, he remains “very proud” of the record they set as a couple.
Their legendary kiss remains one of the most extreme endurance records in history—one that will likely never be broken!
