In a new legal twist to the Mercy Chinwo vs. EeZee Tee saga, gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has officially filed a lawsuit against Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).

This comes just weeks after VDM accused Chinwo of diverting $345,000 from shows without paying her former record label, EeZee Conceptz, owned by Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, aka EeZee Tee.

Mercy Chinwo Demands Retraction & Public Apology

The lawsuit, filed by Pelumi Olajengbesi, Mercy Chinwo’s legal representative, seeks to:

✅ Mandate VeryDarkMan to delete, retract, and publicly apologize for his allegedly false and defamatory statements.
✅ Present documented proof that VDM’s claims are baseless, including emails, payment receipts, and other financial records.

Federal High Court Upholds Arrest Warrant Against EeZee Tee

Meanwhile, a Federal High Court in Lagos had earlier ruled on February 17, 2025, that the arrest warrant against EeZee Tee over alleged fraudulent conversion remains valid. His arraignment is set for March 6, 2025.

VDM’s Statements “Malicious & Defamatory” – Mercy Chinwo’s Lawyer

According to the lawsuit, Olajengbesi described VDM’s social media posts as:

👉 “Libelous, malicious, spiteful, and grossly defamatory.”
👉 “A deliberate misrepresentation” that damages Mercy Chinwo’s reputation.

The legal representative emphasized that VDM was never involved in the Chinwo-EeZee Tee dispute but still presented misleading narratives, harming the singer’s public image.

With this fresh lawsuit, Mercy Chinwo is taking firm legal action to protect her reputation, while EeZee Tee faces his ongoing legal battle. As the case unfolds, all eyes remain on the March 6 court hearing for further developments.
