32-year-old Jade Damarell, a highly experienced skydiver with over 400 jumps, tragically lost her life in a skydiving incident on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Wrefords’ Farm in Shotton, County Durham.
The incident, which took place during a jump with Sky-High Skydiving, has sent shockwaves through the skydiving community. The company described the event as tragic and said early indications suggest it may have been a deliberate act, though the coroner has yet to confirm the exact cause of death.
In an official statement, Sky-High Skydiving expressed deep sorrow:
“It is with great sadness that we confirm a tragic incident involving a valued member of our community. Our thoughts are with Jade’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.”

Durham Constabulary confirmed the fatality, stating that officers and paramedics responded around 10:30 a.m., and that Jade was pronounced dead at the scene. Her death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file has been prepared for the coroner.
