To mark the 2016 International Women’s Day, SME 100 Nigeria and Rubies Vocational School are set to host an International Women’s Day Conference for aspiring Nigerian women with an interest in Politics, Agriculture and Technology.
The 1-day conference is scheduled to hold on the 9th of March 2016 at The Civic Centre, Lagos.
This year’s theme – ‘Pledge for Parity’ – is designed to develop and inspire female entrepreneurs in their respective pursues to leave their mark in an otherwise, male-dominated sector. Participants will acquire new and sharpen existing skills from an impressive list of speakers and session moderators including Special Guest, Mosun Belo-Olusoga (Chairperson, Access Bank PLC); Abike Dabiri-Erewa (Senior Special Adviser to the President on Foreign Affairs); Oreoluwa Somolu-Lesi (Executive Director, W.TEC); Aisha Babaginda (Chairman, Better Life for Rural Women, Nigeria) amongst many.
This first-of-its-kind conference is open to all Nigerians and will double as the launch of its 2016 Empowerment Training programme where a total of 1000 women will be trained over the course of the calendar year in various vocations including Makeup & Hair Styling, Catering and Digital Media.
SME 100 Nigeria and Rubies Vocational School aims to continuously stimulate entrepreneurship among Young Africans through its empowerment initiatives – supporting female entrepreneurs and enabling communities to reap the transformational benefits of SME participation in the economy.
