Three siblings have claimed they were kicked off an Easyjet plane and interrogated under the watch of armed police after fellow passengers accused them of being Isis terrorists. Sakina Dharas, 24, her sister Maryam, 19, and their brother Ali, 21, said they were questioned by counter-terrorism officers on the tarmac after a passenger falsely accused them of looking at jihadist propaganda on their phones.
The trio were set to fly to Naples for a weekend getaway on August 17, but Sakina said they were shocked when they were carted off the plane and met with the question “Do you speak English?”The British-born Muslims of Indian ethnicity, were allowed back on the flight after police checked their passports and phones and questioned them for an hour while the plane waited.
In a Facebook post Sakina vented her fury over the incident, which she believes began after an accusation was made maliciously because she was wearing a headscarf.
The airline has since apologised for the incident at London Stanstead.
