The partner of tragic boxer Mike Towell has shared the last heartbreaking picture the dad took with his toddler son.The 25-year-old Dundee boxer, known as “Iron Mike Towell”, died 24 hours after he was stretchered out of the ring of a Glasgow bout with bleeding on the brain on Thursday night.

He had been taking on Dale Evans at the St Andrew’s Sporting Club event at the Radisson Blu hotel when he was knocked down in the fifth round of the welterweight eliminator by a left hook.He died shortly after 11pm on Friday at Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with his family at his bedside.

His partner of eight-and-a-half years, Chloe Ross, 23, and mum to his son Rocco, two, has since left heartbreaking tributes to the dad on Facebook.On Saturday night she shared a picture Mike took of himself cuddled up in bed with his son just two days before his collapse.

The heartbreaking picture came as a Just Giving page set up by former world champion boxer Ricky Hatton smashed its £20,000 target in just one day.The page, which is collecting funds for Mike’s son and family, has now reached £25,000 and well over 1,000 people have donated.Hatton wrote on the page: “Mike Towell lost his life doing either what he loved or looking after his family – or both.“A young boy and partner are left behind let’s make sure they are looked after. Give what you can.”
