People magazine has named Julia Roberts World’s Most Beautiful Woman 2017, and the internet has some super-strong feelings about it.
This year marks Julia’s fifth time taking the title — her first was in 1991, and she last held it in 2010. Even as she remains a Hollywood icon, it appeared that, at least on social media, the general public questioned why the magazine bet on the Oscar-winner, 49, once again, and why the publication seemingly to disregard up-and-coming celebrity talent for the top spot.
Roberts is now way ahead of pal George Clooney, who has been PEOPLE’s sexiest Man Alive twice. Jokes Roberts of the feat, “I’m going to mention that in my Christmas card to the Clooneys this year.”
Roberts was just 23 when she first appeared on the cover of the World’s Most Beautiful issue in 1991. The year before, she had skyrocketed to instant fame when she starred in the smash romantic comedy Pretty Woman.
