Group chairman of Silverbird, Ben Murray-Bruce has offered a scholarship to one of the children of Amadi Ogbonnaya, the Vanguard entertainment editor who died on August 29. NET gathered that Bruce made this announcement during a condolence visit to the family in Lagos. Amadi’s last son, Ben, 6, was named after Ben Bruce, an entertainment and business mogul with whom the late Amadi had a close relationship.
Bruce will sponsor Ben who is currently in Primary school through his secondary school and University education. The Silverbird chairman and the late Entertainment group editor were very close friends.The late veteran writer will be buried in Okagwe, Ohafia, Abia state, his hometown on the 12th of october.
