The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards  which was hosted by Kofi Okyere Darko (K.O.D) and Eazzy and held at the International Conference Center saw performances from Davido, Iyanya, Sarkodie, Samini, Sonnie Badu and others. Interestingly, Davido scooped up the award for ‘Best African Artiste of the Year‘ at the 15th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) which held on Saturday, May 3, 2013. The young Pop singer beat Nigerian counterparts Psquare, KCEE, Wizkid, Flavour and South African duo Mafikizolo to pick up the award. Last year, Wizkid won the same award. According to organizers, the award can only be won by ‘non-Ghanaian musicians whose music crossed borders and made the most impact in Ghana and on the continent at large during the year under review’. Davido wrote on his Instagram page: “Winner oh winner!! We worked our ass off!! GMA African Artiste Of The Year! Can’t lie I’m packing All this year Amen!!
