Colombia’s James Rodriguez’ wonder strike against Uruguay in the round of 16 of the World Cup Brazil 2014 has been voted Goal of the Tournament, announced FIFA.com on Monday. The 23-year-old made the best out of an Abel Aguilar’s header by beautifully chesting the ball under control with his back to the goal, before unleashing a deadly volley which ended at the back of Fernando Muslera’s net.

Netherlands’ Robin van Persie’s diving header against Spain in the Group stage came second, followed by another masterpiece by James Rodriguez against Japan. The AS Monaco playmaker had also walked away with the Golden Boot Award after scoring six goals in five World Cup appearances. And his overall exceptional performance in Brazil earned him an expected € 75-million move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

This guy deserves all the awards!
