The Rivers State Government said on Friday that President Goodluck Jonathan had released the sum of N200m promised by the Federal Government as part of its contribution to the fight against the Ebola virus disease in the state.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Sampson Parker, expressed gratitude to the President for fulfilling his promise and assistance in tackling the dreaded disease.

Parker explained that though the state had won the battle against Ebola, the war against the disease was not yet over, adding that the existence of the disease in Liberia and Sierra Leone was still a risk to other countries.
