The 46-year-old musician performed on Sunday night at the Hollywood Bowl, where he joined Mary J. Blige on stage as her surprise guest to sing their duet “Real Love.” Brown, who was greeted by excited cheers from the audience, kept his commentary short, and according to TMZ, he told the crowd:
“Thank you for all your prayers, everybody.”
The New Edition frontman’s performance comes less than one month after his 22-year-old daughter, who was found unconscious in a bathtub at her home on the morning of Jan. 31 and remained in a comatose state until her passing, was laid to rest next to her mother Whitney Houston, who drowned in the bathtub in her suite at the Beverly Hilton hotel the day before the 2012 Grammys.
