A Pennsylvania bride wanted all of her best buddies to stand beside her on her wedding day, including her closest friend of all – her grandmother. Christine Quinn asked her 89-year-old grandmother, Betty Govern, or as she’s often called “Nana Betty,” to be a bridesmaid in her May 2 wedding.Quinn said Nana Betty was unsure if she fit the bridesmaid mold, and repeatedly asked her granddaughter if she was sure of her choice.
“She asked me, ‘Why would you want an old lady in your bridal party?'” Quinn told the Huffington Post. “A few times she even said, ‘All of your bridesmaids are young and pretty, why would you want me?'”
Quinn said Nana Betty proved to be the wildest bridesmaid of them all. She “danced the entire night away” and kept the bridal party laughing with jokes and pieces of advice.
