Lagos State Government Bans Movement Of Heavy Duty Vehicles Between 6am & 9pm

The Lagos state government has now officially declared it illegal for heavy duty vehicles, such as trailers and trucks, to move between the hours of 6am and 9pm daily. This decision is not unconnected with  the Ojuelegba trailer tragedy which claimed 3 lives last week.  The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation, Mr Oluseyi Whenu, told reporters on Saturday that trailer contravened Section 2 (i) and 2 (ii) of the Traffic Law.
He reiterated the fact that the state government, going forward, would go tough against any trailer and long vehicle that contravened the law, adding that the vehicle will be impounded and the owner fined, accordingly.

Nigerian leaders always reacting rather than taking proactive steps. God help us!
