The highly-anticipated Spectre track was finally unveiled on Friday morning. But Sam Smith has received a mixed response to his new James Bond theme tune, with some critics accusing the singer of ‘ripping off’ Michael Jackson’s Earth Song. Many fans took to Twitter to criticise the 23-year-old vocalist’s song for the new 007 flick, with some claiming it bears an uncanny likeness to the iconic 1995 hit.
TV presenter Jenni Falconer was one of the first to highlight the likeness, writing: ‘Anyone else think #WritingsOntheWall has an Earth Song sound to it in parts?’
But one fan who was pleased with Sam’s version was Sir Roger Moore, who famously replaced Sean Connery in the James Bond series
