Ronke Shonde, a mother of two, was found dead in their apartment located on Tiemo Close, Off Awori Street, in Egbeda-Idimu area of Lagos state on Friday morning.

The husband was said to have fled with his wife’s mobile phones after the incident occurred. Shonde had earlier reportedly confirmed to PUNCH Metro via a phone call, that his late wife Ronke, had angered him by flaunting her infidelity to his face after a romp with her lover in Abuja.

Shonde who works in a depot in Apapa, Lagos state, said his wife of eight years had started dating the general manager of a publishing company, which prompted a change in her behaviour. Shonde went on to state how he was warned against marrying Ronke by his mother and how he regretted marrying her. He admitted that he last beat his wife three years ago after a disagreement, and that contrary to reports that he beat his wife to death, that he hasn’t touched her ever since then.
