The  Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh has revealed that the Federal Government has dumped the controversial idea of establishing grazing reserves and opted for the construction of ranches. Ogbeh made this revelation on Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Palace of the Lamido Adamawa.

The minister said states that are not in support of the establishment of grazing reserves will not be forced. Ogbeh also called on Nigerians not to let religious and ethnic sentiments cloud their judgement. He said:

“The business of government is to find equitable solution to the problem as such the government will not force any state to provide grazing land.”
