A former Voice contestant has died after being shot at a concert in Florida.Christina Grimmie, who took part in the US version of TV talent show, was signing autographs for fans when a man opened fire.The 22-year-old was rushed to hospital but died a short time later.
In a statement released this morning, a spokesman for the singer said: “It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord.She was shot at her show in Orlando and, unfortunately, didn’t survive the gun shot wounds.We ask at this time that you respect the privacy of her family and friends in their time of mourning.If you’d like to give back to Christina’s family in her memory, please consider donating to the families GoFundMe page in their time of need.”

Christina’s brother Mark risked his own life to tackle the gunman, who was armed with two weapons.The unidentified male gunman shot and killed himself after opening fire on Christina.A motive for the shooting is not yet known.
