Today, Nollywood actress and entrepreneur, Mercy Aigbe-Gentry, signed a multi-million naira endorsement deal with the management and staff of Edalaf Brothers Nigeria Limited. The event place at Ibis Hotel, Toyin Street, Ikeja and the actress expressed her gratitude for this new endorsement making her the first Nigerian celebrity to own a mobile application. In her words:
“I am very happy and delighted that I was chosen among all other actresses in the industry. I was specially chosen for this role and hopefully I pray that the collaboration will go places. I am the first Nigerian celebrity to have a mobile App which is a great way for me to communicate with my fans. I decided to do this because I will not represent a brand I am not sure of.”
“This mobile App will also be taken to public schools so they can learn from other students in other schools. The Mobile App is something to look out for and it will not only have my information on it but students can learn from it because we have teachers online that are ready to teach any student using my App.”
Speaking on why Mercy Aigbe was chosen as the brand ambassador, the CEO of Edalaf Brothers, Dr Abiodun Falade disclosed that, they chose her because she is one of the few in the industry who is responsible and has a huge fan base. Dr Falade said:
“Mercy Aigbe-Gentry was chosen because she is a very hardworking, and responsible woman in the industry. She is happily married, she is unique, scandal free and also we wanted somebody that will not soil our brand. The website was majorly developed so that her fans can follow her up closely and also send her messages directly.”
The ambassadorial duty is expected to last for two years. However, Mercy Aigbe on Monday, July 25, officially released her movie Victims on DVD. Congratulations to Mercy Aigbe!
