A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the United States Secretary of State, John Kerry’s statement to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, during his visit. Fani-Kayode described Kerry’s statement as garbage, praying for God to forgive him.

Kerry who is on a two-day visit to Nigeria was at the Palace of the Sultan of Sokoto to discuss counter terrorism efforts in Nigeria on Tuesday, August 23. He commended the Sultan of Sokoto for promoting religious tolerance and understanding among Nigerians.

According to him, the Sultanate Council was building a community of tolerance for peace, progress and political stability in Nigeria. Some Nigerians also condemned Kerry’s statement, saying the United States was only playing international politics. They wondered how he was promoting religious tolerance when eight persons were recently killed in Zamfara state over alleged blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad.

Hmmm.
