Kim Kardashian admits she’s not on the greatest terms with her former stepfather after the publication of Caitlyn Jenner’s memoir The Secrets of My Life, which led to a major rift between the former Olympian and the stepdaughters she raised with ex-wife Kris Jenner.
“I definitely got upset about it,” said Kardashian of the book during a Monday appearance on “The View”. “In our family, we are always so close and stick through everything, so everything is definitely going to be fine.”
Reading Jenner’s account of events leading up to her transition, Kardashian admitted she was taken aback by some of the claims in the book, and the way they reflected on her mother.
“Maybe their stories are different, maybe their accounts are different,” she told the panel on “The View”. “But when all of us were there witnessing some things, and seeing things really different, it was just a little surprising.”
Meanwhile, Kardashian also revealed that it’s been months since she and Jenner have spoken.
“To say I don’t have a relationship… she’ll always be a part of me,” she added. “Have I talked to her in the last couple months? No.”
However, she’s hopeful that she and Jenner will eventually be able to put this behind them. “She’ll always be my step-dad, and always be a person that raised me, and taught me so much in life,” said Kardashian. “Stepped up to the plate, took over for my dad when he passed away.”
