Lil Peep’s girlfriend has written a heartbreaking tribute to the rapper, who has died aged 21. The rapper, real name Gustav Åhr, has passed away, his manager Chase Ortega confirmed. Following the news, Lil Peep’s girlfriend Arzaylea Rodriguez said she wanted to ‘wake up from this nightmare’ in a devastating Instagram post. Arzaylea shared a number of photographs of her late boyfriend, along with screengrabs of messages between them.
The 23-year-old wrote: ‘i can’t believe i’m writing this. you’re in my heart. i’m always yours. i don’t have words to express what you’ve done for me in such little time. ‘i love you so much. you live forever in me. i don’t know how to do any of this without you now… i love you so much i want to wake up from this nightmare.’ One of the text screengrabs she posted saw her write to Lil Peep: ‘I love you a lot more than you think I do and I can’t wait for you to be all mine and Imma pamper you.
‘I want you to be happy and I’m going to help you get there. Imma marry you.’ Arzaylea, an Instagram star who previously dated 5 Seconds Of Summer singer Luke Hemmings, also tweeted: ‘this isn’t real please’, and retweeted an October post from Lil Peep reading: ‘I miss my girl.’
The couple began posting pictures of each other to social media in October, sparking rumours they began dating just two months ago. The rapper shared several pics of Arzaylea, including one reading ‘Mine’ while focusing on a tattoo on the model’s forearm saying ‘Yours’. Arzaylea was believed to have been flying back to the States from London at the time of her boyfriend’s death. Lil Peep’s cause of death has not yet been confirmed, although multiple reports have alleged he died from an overdose.
