The Home and Away actress Jessica Falkholt, who was involved in a devastating Boxing Day car crash that claimed the lives of her parents and sister, has had her life support switched off.

The 29-year-old and her 21-year-old sister Annabelle were pulled unconscious from the wreckage of the crash, which occurred on the coast of New South Wales. Their parents, Lars and Vivian, were killed instantly. Annabelle died in hospital three days later.

Jessica had undergone several surgeries since the crash, but remained in a coma. The decision to switch off her life support came a day after her family were laid to rest at a church in the Sydney suburb of Concord.

Police continue to investigate the crash, which also claimed the life of 50-year-old Craig Whitall, who was driving the other car and died instantly. Local reports have described Whitall as a “serial traffic offender” who was driving home from a methadone clinic when his car collided with the Falkholt vehicle.
