A YOUTUBE star has been trolled as a “spoilt brat” after asking a hotel for a free stay – prompting them to ban all bloggers. Elle Darby had contacted hotels around Dublin, asking them about a “possible collaboration” that would allow her to stay for free while featuring them on her social media channels.

But the offer backfired when the owner of the White Moose Café and Charleville Lodge Hotel in Dublin shared the young woman’s email – slamming her for lacking “self-respect and dignity”.In owner Paul Stenson’s reply, he wrote: “Thank you for your email looking for free accommodation in return for exposure.

“It takes a lot of balls to send an email like that, if not much self-respect and dignity. If I let you stay here in return for a feature in your video, who is going to pay the staff who look after you? Who is going to pay the housekeepers who clean your room?”

The hotel then went on to ban all bloggers, saying: “The sense of entitlement is just too strong in the blogging community and the nastiness, hissy fits and general hate displayed after one of your members was not granted her request for a freebie is giving your whole industry a bad name.”

In response, Elle Darby shared a video, called “I was exposed (SO embarrassing)”, saying: “As a 22-year-old girl who is running her own business from her home, I don’t feel like I did anything wrong.”

She said she been angry, sad, upset and embarrassed by the situation.

She added: “There were also over about over 100 comments again saying disgusting things about me all because I had gone to this certain hotel and emailed them politely offering them a business idea.”
