Lady Gaga has been forced to cancel the remaining 10 dates of her Joanne World Tour on medical grounds. The Applause singer had been due to perform at London’s O2 Arena on February 4 and 8 as well as in Manchester on February 6 before playing other shows around Europe.

However a statement from Live Nation has confirmed that her ability to perform has been impacted by ‘severe pain’ resulting in the shows being shelved. ‘Unfortunately Lady Gaga is suffering from severe pain that has materially impacted her ability to perform live,’ the company said in a statement. ‘As a result, Live Nation and Lady Gaga are announcing the cancellation of the final 10 dates of the European leg of her Joanne World Tour.

‘Last night, with strong support from her medical team, Lady Gaga made the tough decision to immediately come off the road. ‘She is extremely sorry and deeply saddened that she cannot perform for her European fans, who have waited so patiently. ‘She is in the care of expert medical professionals who are working closely with her so she can continue to perform for her fans for years to come. ‘Ticket holders may obtain a refund beginning Tuesday, 6-February at point of purchase.’

As well as the dates in London and Manchester the singer had been due to play shows in Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and France before the end of the month. This isn’t the first time Gaga has been forced to postpone shows for the sake of her health, after she cancelled the six-week part of the tour in Barcelona while suffering with ‘trauma and chronic pain’.
