The mother of a two-year-old girl who died in a ‘horrific accident’ said she ‘will have to live with the guilt for the rest of my life.’ Kim Rowlands, 25, is blaming herself after the tragic details of Kiara Moore’s death were revealed.

Kiara was trapped in a silver Mini that had rolled into the River Teifi when her mother jumped out to get money from her office in Cardigan, Wales. Kim said the accident was ‘due to my own stupidity’ as she paid tribute to her ‘beautiful’ daughter on Facebook. She wrote: ‘Mummy loves you baby girl and I’m so sorry!’

Kiara’s father, Jet Moore, said her death was a ‘horrific accident’, adding: ‘They got in the car to go home. Sat on bank card which snapped and needed money to get home etc.

‘Went back to the office to get money from the desk and came back to no car. Looked in the river no signs. So we thought she and the car had been taken. ‘The police found the car a while later and went way beyond the call of duty jumping in and pulling her out. ‘They tried to revive her for hours but unfortunately could not. Everyone done their best. Thank you all so much for the support it means the world.

‘She was an incredible happy young girl who lived I hope a great adventurous fun life. And may have done more than most people. ‘Had a loving family and made us all happy.’ Officers said the car was dragged 500ft downstream before Kiara was found nearly two hours later. She was pulled from the vehicle alive and airlifted to University of Wales Hospital in Cardiff, where she later died.
