Morgan Freeman has responded to allegations of sexual harassment, after multiple women came forward claiming inappropriate behaviour by the actor. Earlier today, eight allegations came to light from women after sixteen people spoke to CNN, with eight accusing the 80-year-old of harassment and eight people claiming that they witnessed Freeman’s alleged behaviour. In a statement released by his publicist on Thursday afternoon, Morgan apologised to anyone who ‘felt uncomfortable or disrespected’ by him. He said: ‘Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy.
‘I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected – that was never my intent.’
Four people making the allegations worked in production on sets with Freeman over the past decade; they said they didn’t report his alleged behaviour as they feared for their jobs.
