Demi Lovato is said to be suffering ‘complications’ following her alleged overdose and is being kept in hospital. The singer was allegedly found unconscious at home following a party six days ago, and has yet to be released from hospital, Ceders-Sinai in LA. According to TMZ, sources have said she is ‘suffering extreme nausea and a high fever’, among other ‘complications’ said to be related to an overdose. It has been claimed that at the time Demi was found, someone had administered Narcan, a drug used to reverse the effects of opioids. It was originally claimed she’d taken heroin, but it’s now been said she refused to tell medics what she took. It was thought she was ready to leave the facility, with it being claimed she was being released into the care of a rehab centre.

She has since said the incident was a ‘wake up call’, telling friends according to Entertainment Tonight: ‘Demi opened up to her friends and family that she was no longer sober, but was working on her ongoing addiction. However, Demi lost control. ‘The overdose has been a wakeup call to Demi that she needs to get more serious about her sobriety and is telling friends and family she will do everything it takes to get back to the amazing place she was in before she slipped.’ A source previously told The Blast she was ‘doing very well.’
