Cristiano Ronaldo Casually Leaves Hotel Staff A £17,850 Tip

Cristiano Ronaldo signed a mind-boggling €100 million (£88.3m) deal to transfer to Juventus, so it’s fair to say he’s not strapped for cash. Still, that doesn’t make this gesture any less generous. The 33-year-old reportedly left staff at a Greek hotel a £17,850 tip after staying there with his family and friends. We’re guessing that’s a bit more than the average 15%.

Ronaldo stayed at the Costa Navarino resort in the western Peloponnese after Portugal were knocked out of the World Cup, taking his family and friends to stay in its Royal Methoni villa for ten days. The villa, which has hosted A-list guests including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in the past, comes with round-the-clock butler service – natch – as well as being surrounded by sand dunes to block out any pesky paparazzi. However, Ronaldo wanted some extra assistance from the hotel staff to keep photographers at bay – and when they did a top job, he gave them a rather large tip when he departed the resort.
