Demi Lovato is reportedly awake and responsive, after she was ‘rushed to hospital’ earlier today. It was claimed the singer had suffered an apparent drug overdose and was taken to hospital in Los Angeles around midday, Tuesday, local time. As celebrities rallied around the singer – who celebrated six years of sobriety in March – TMZ has since reported the singer was awake. According to reps: ‘Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support.’
They added: ‘Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy
While TMZ claimed law enforcement sources added Demi was treated with Narcan – an emergency treatment for narcotic overdoses, specifically opioids, after paramedics reportedly found her unconscious at her home. Demi has fought substance abuse for years and has spoken about seeking treatment in the past, celebrating six years of sobriety in March after battling cocaine and Oxycontin addiction.
