Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has been reported to have escaped plot to assassinate him. According to a tweet by Lere Olayinka on his Twitter handle he said that ‘Fayose is currently receiving treatment at govt house clinic after he was hit by teargas canister fired by the policemen.’ He went on to say that ‘the armed policemen still laying siege at the Govt House.’ Fayose had earlier tweeted that there was heavy shooting in front of Ekiti Govt house by armed policemen and that the entrance to Ekiti Govt House was blocked by gun wielding mobile policemen.
