Three people have been arrested in London over an acid attack on a three-year-old boy in Worcester over the weekend. The men, aged 22, 25 and 26, have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm. Witnesses described hearing his mother screaming ‘what have they done to my baby?’ moments after acid was thrown in his face.

Detective Inspector Tony Garner said: ‘We’d like to thank everyone who shared our appeal over the weekend and contacted us with information; all of this is helping us to build up a better picture of this incident. ‘We’re continuing to urge anyone else with information to contact us.’

The little boy was sitting in his push chair when he was targeted in what police have described as a deliberate attack. They are continuing to appeal for information about the attack and over the weekend released CCTV images of three men they want to talk to.

He was treated in hospital for burns to his face and one arm before being released on Sunday afternoon. Police said the long-term implications of his injuries are ‘uncertain’.

The incident occurred at around 2.15pm on Saturday in the Home Bargains store on the Shrub Hill Retail Park in Tallow Hill.
