Aretha Franklin reportedly hadn’t made a will at the time of her death. The singer died aged 76 following a battle with cancer, but it would seem she hadn’t planned on going anywhere just yet. In documents seen by TMZ, Aretha had allegedly died ‘intestate’, which means she had no will at the time of death. Aretha’s estate is estimated to be worth $80 million (£62 million), which under Michigan laws will go to her four children.

The legend’s funeral will be held on 31 August at Greater Grace Temple, which will be a private affair for just family and friends. Prior to the service, a public viewing of her casket will be held where fans will be able to pay their respects. It’ll be held at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History on 28 and 29 August from 9am to 9pm. The will later be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.
