Lamar Odom says he is grateful to be alive every day after ‘miraculously’ surviving an overdose in Las Vegas in 2015. The former NBA player confirmed that he had ’12 strokes and six heart attacks’ during his three-day coma. Khloe Kardashian’s ex-husband is three-years sober after he was discovered to have ‘every drug imaginable’ in his system when he collapsed at a brothel in Nevada, and it was not known whether his motor or speech skills would be fully recovered. ‘All my doctors that see me say I’m a walking miracle,’ Lamar told Kevin Hart in his new YouTube series this week.

‘I had 12 strokes and six heart attacks when I was in a coma.’ Lamar added that it felt ‘great’ to be sober, and he will be ‘every day I’m alive.’ Shortly after the 2015 incident, Lamar was only reported to have had two of the six heart attacks he now describes. Odom’s 12 strokes were discovered during a series of brain scans and doctors. They worried that it would have permanent impact on his ability to walk and talk, all the while his kidneys were failing, but even so, he was said to be making ‘miraculous’ progress after returning to LA from Las Vegas. During his chat with Hart, Lamar spoke about being around for his children 19-year-old Destiny and Lamar Jr, 16. He also mentioned his ‘son [Jayden] in heaven,’ whose sudden infant death at six months is believed to have brought on his drug addiction. Lamar previously spoke about his happiness for ex-wife Khloe, who has just welcomed her own first child and – even though estranged – was at his bedside when he awoke from his coma.
