Nigeria’s D’Tigers became the first team to officially qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 in China after they defeated Central Afrique 114-69 in Saturday’s Group F Africa qualifiers
It was the eighth straight win for D’Tigers in the qualifiers and the 11th consecutive win over Central Afrique.
Alex Nwora’s side dominated play from start to finish winning all four quarters 25-20, 26-19, 37-21 and 26-9.
Portland Trail Blazers’ guard, Al-Farouq Aminu was the team’s most effective player after he scored 12 points, eight rebound, five assists and three steal.
Ikenna Iroegbo also scored 18 points in the encounter.
Stan Okoye scored 11 points and five rebounds and four steals while Alade Aminu also posted 11 points.
D’Tigers will face Senegal in their final qualifying game in the secound round window on Sunday.
