Hamilton Wins Russian Grand Prix, Extends Lead

Lewis Hamilton extended his lead at the top of the Formula 1 standing winning the Russian Grand Prix.

Hamilton is now 50 points ahead in the title race with a maximum 125 still available in the remaining five races.

The win was also his eighth of the year at the Sochi Autodrom.

Valteri Bottas finished second while Sebastian Vettel came third.

Kimi Raikkonen crossed the line in fourth position ahead of Mark Verstappen and his Red Bull team-mate Daniel Ricciardo.

Ferrari-bound Charles Leclerc finished an impressive seventh.

The Suzuka, arguably the greatest track on Earth will stage the Grand Prix in Japan and If Vettel fails to eat into Hamilton’s lead there, the championship is all but over.
