The Police in Kano have intercepted 189 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp worth N6.6 million.

This is contained in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Magaji Majiya and made available to newsmen in Kano on Monday.

He said, “On Sept. 22 base on tip-off and raid conducted at Tudun Wazirchi and Badawa Quarters Kano,  189 parcels of Indian hemp were intercepted.

“The Indian hemp was concealed inside palm kernel shells to hid its ordour ,” he said.

In another development, the Command also arrested two men: Musbahu Usman and Nura Husain who allegedly conspired and trailed an innocent person from bank.

The PPRO said that on Sept. 19, at about 3 p.m. the duo trailed an innocent person from a bank along Bank Road, Kano after withdrawing the sum of N500,000.

“They attacked him along Audu Bako Way while boarding a tricycle but they were arrested while the money was recovered from the suspects instance, ” Majiya said.
