Ogenyi Onazi has vowed to prove how good he is to the Super Eagles midfielder handlers after been left out of the Nigerian squad to face South Africa in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on November 17 and a friendly tie against Uganda three days later reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

 

Onazi missed Nigeria’s doubleheader against Libya due to an Achilles injury he sustained while at the national team camp.

But despite returning to action for his Turkish side, Trabzonspor in their last two games the 25-year-old was overlooked by the Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr for next month’s crucial game against South Africa billed for the FNB stadium on the 17th of November.

 

Also excluded from the team is skipper, John Obi Mikel. The Tianjin Teda midfielder has not featured for the Super Eagles since captaining the country at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

 

“I’ve always been committed to the team and I will always be even if I’m not there,” he told CSN.

 

“It’s a game we must win I will be backing them to achieve that.”

Onazi further told Fanatik.tr.com: ”I’ll show my quality and talents to those who didn’t give me the chance to play in the World Cup.”

 

Onazi has made 12 appearances for Trabzonspor this term scoring one goal. He has also made 51 appearances for the Super Eagles since his debut in 2012.
