I don’t owe dancer who cursed me – Broda Shaggi

A while ago, it was reported that comedian, Samuel Perry, aka Broda Shaggi, had been signed by Davido to his record company, Davido Music Worldwide.

But in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Broda Shaggi refused to confirm or deny the reports. He said, “For now, it is a private discussion. I don’t want to talk about it; it is either a yes or no.”

Speaking on a recent feud with a dancer who rained curses on him for not reposting a video, the comedian said he was surprised that the person went that far. He explained, “He (dancer) made a video and tagged me, but I didn’t see it. I didn’t like the fact that he used those words on me and I told him. I have never met him and I owe him nothing. He did a video for me and I could decide not to post. But it was appreciated. If I had seen it, I would have saved it and reposted it. The challenge was for the ‘oya hit me’ dance. If you do a dance video, you stand a chance to win as much as N250, 000.”

According to him, as a comedian, he gets plenty of tags every day on social media. “For people who know me, I am always with my phone. If I see any tag, I go to the page and like or comment on the post. But I cannot see everything. At times when some celebrities do the ‘oya hit me’ post, I don’t always see them until people tag me,” he added.

The comedian also maintained that venturing into music would not affect his comedy brand, saying, “Music is what I have always loved to do. The fact that I do it now doesn’t make it new, as I have been doing it before. I am just using the opportunity I have now as Broda Shaggi to push the musical part of me.”
