I won’t Celebrate If United Beat Chelsea At Stamford Bridge

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, insists he
won’t celebrate like crazy if his side win at former club Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Mourinho heads back to west London looking for a second successive victory after his side’s dramatic 3-2 win over Newcastle last time out, a result that eased some of the pressure that had been mounting on the 55-year-old following a four-game winless run, as well as reports of a bust-up with midfielder Paul Pogba.

The Portuguese has lost on each of his three visits to Stamford Bridge as the Red Devils manager and suffered a 1-0 defeat in the FA Cup final at Wembley in May.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have made a fine start to the season under new boss Maurizio Sarri, with the club winning six and drawing two of their opening eight matches to sit second in the Premier League on goal difference behind leaders Manchester City.

Mourinho played down the significance of his return to a club where he won eight major trophies, including three Premier League titles, over two spells as manager.

“For me it is another game. Would I celebrate like crazy if my team score a goal at Stamford Bridge or my team wins at Stamford Bridge? I don’t think so” Mourinho stated during his interaction with the media ahead of the game on Friday.

“I think I would try to control myself and to respect the stadium and the supporters that were my supporters and stadium for many years, to do that should be something if I completely lost my emotional control, which is not easy.

“So I would think which stadium I am in, which public is in the stands but apart from that it is another match for me.

“I want to do well for my team, my players, my support. I am 100 per cent Manchester United [on Saturday], no more space than respect for the stadium and the fans.”
